This week, it’s time to shake our soft palate a wee bit. We will perform a couple of exploratory exercises to help the soft palate stay flexible and responsive. We will base these exercises on two sounds, focusing on what we feel when we go through them.

What You Will Learn In This Episode:

– What and where is the soft palate, and what is its function in our voicing

– What exercises we should do to ensure our soft palate is awake and ready

– The link between high oral resonance and a soft palate that is up

Working on the soft palate is excellent for those who feel their voice is a bit nasal and those who think their voice is adenoidal. Having a responsive and elastic soft palate will also make vocal tone and variety sound better and this is gold, especially for those who do character work.
