I'd like to tell you a story.
Once upon a time there was a lady (I'm looking at you Lisa Armytage...) who asked me whether there were any regular voice classes she could attend in Manchester. I said "No", and the lady was sad. So I set one up! The end.
I love a happy ending. That's right. The first ever NRV Voice Workout happened last Tuesday at Hope Studios. We had 8 wonderful, and very willing, participants and we all had a grand auld time! That's the lot of them in the pic above; kindly taken by attendee and excellent happy bear (#injoke...) Julia Meola. This first session was a Back to Basics workshop covering the fundamentals of a successful vocal warm up; release, breath, resonance and articulation. The next session will tackle the subject of breath and the third in July will be an articulation boot camp to tone up those ps and qs.
The plan is to have a session once a month so if you're into voice and would like to come along, you can bag a space on the next two here or have a nosy at the Events page of this site to learn more. I'd also love to hear what people would like at future workshops. Whether it's accent work, vocal technique or text work or another back to basics session; NRV is here to help. Post your thoughts in the comments below and I'll see what I can do.
A big thank you to Hope Studios for making us welcome. See you next month!
Peace out voice gang.
