It's been a busy old week here at Nic Redman Voice HQ.
The annual VOX conference happened in the Midlands somewhere. I can't remember but the hotel had a spa and the Pimms was excellent. A gathering of the worlds best and keenest VOs came together to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of this great organisation. We networked. We ate. We drank. And I won a trip to Amsterdam. All in all a delightful, totally professional business related weekend away.
The good folks at Manchester ADP kindly put on a day of freebie taster workshops for their hard working actors. They had a session with Casting Networks, an intro to Method acting and all sorts. I was tasked with a few workshops on vocal articulation. Lovely to see some familiar faces and continue to spreading the voice gospel.
Then to Liverpool to run an afternoon of Accent Surgeries for Spotlight. I haven't been in Liverpool since my time with LIPA finished for this year so it was lovely to be back. And a chance to nosy around the Empire Theatre whilst it was quiet! What a treat. Look out for an interview with me chatting all things voice for them soon.
Next week brings the second of the Voice Workout sessions at Hope Studios. We will be focusing on breath in this class; essential for any actor... or human wanting to stay alive. Details and tickets available here.
Lots of exciting events on the horizon so stay tuned!
Over and out.
